Training Courses Offered By Backcountry Wildlife Monitoring

WILDLIFE MONITOR TRAINING

We offer our employees 2 courses: Basic and Advanced Training.

The basic course is an introductory program for a new wildlife monitor to be able to operate in the field at a basic level using bear spray only. The goal is to train employees to be able to provide hazard assessments in advance of field workers. The Advanced Training program is for use of firearms.

Backcountry Wildlife Monitors will receive their training at the Prince George Institute of Technology.

PGIT will provide quality and relevant education to workers in Northern BC and Alberta with a commitment to deliver programming that meets or exceeds industry standards.

With an eye to the future, PGIT will seek to create new courses and learning opportunities for workers in resource industries including mining, oil, natural gas and forestry.
