A bow hunter is in stable condition in a Saskatoon hospital after being attacked by a black bear in northern Saskatchewan.
It happened Monday evening in a wooded area near the community of Weirdale in Sasketchewan.
The hunter was in a tree stand hunting elk on private land when a female black bear with cubs wandered into the area.
The bear saw the hunter in the tree, climbed it, and attacked him. He was able to fight off the attack but was seriously injured. The hunter was able to get to his truck and seek medical attention.
